A Delmarva Odyssey is a great interactive way for students to learn about the natural history, ecology, and culture of the Delmarva Peninsula. There are a number of ways for your class to join us on our odyssey. These include:

Follow the progress of the Delmarva Odyssey online through this web page. Once the trip starts you’ll find regular updates with maps showing our progress, interviews with experts, information on Delmarva natural history, and a personal journal by John Wik, our adventurer.

Take your class on a field trip to meet us along the odyssey. Our outreach coordinator Bonni Jones and adventurer John Wik will meet your class and students will enjoy a lesson on the ecology of the Delmarva Peninsula. Schedule a video conference with adventurer John Wik during the odyssey. From your classroom students can hear about the odyssey and will have a chance to ask questions in real-time.

There are a number of different ways in which your class can get involved. These options include following the odyssey through the web site, scheduling a field trip to meet us along the route of the trip, and maybe even contacting us by video link during the trip.

Can I follow along on-line?
Yes, you can check back at this web site to follow the trip. Each day or two you can see a map showing the boat’s progress, new interviews with scientists and other experts, and information on the flora and fauna of the peninsula.
